Mithila (Janakpur) was not the first time for me. But, I found #Mithila clean and improving in term of infrastructure on my last trip for one day class organized by Teach for Nepal. I was invited to speak in class of Janata Secondary School so that students will get mileage in their further career symbolizing my speech as a new grip of life.
Teach for Nepal is innovative hub with enthusiastic youth working for silos in educational infrastructure of a nation with proven model in other countries around the world. The team is implementing the model localizing for Nepal in which youth are key player to engaged directly to improve quality of education in school. Trained youths teach in government or public schools for two years. Their commitment shows a hope for communities building manpower for a nation. I shared about “the trust” in my one-day class in Mithila.
Visit Nepal 2020, an opportunity for Nepal to exchange culture and Forex, is coming near. Growing tourism is shaping new dynamics with new behavior patterns of tourist with smart phone and technology. New tourism culture is changing the game of conventional tourism in Nepal which leads question to sustainable development to inquire.
Approach of “Affordable” and “Appropriate” are two elements of sustainable development. Any development should be affordable in terms of economic, social and any capacity and should be appropriate for stakeholder for example; If an illiterate woman is using keypad phone and all the sudden she got a smart phone as a gift, will she be able to operate the smart phone? And is it appropriate for her? She is currently not ready afford a smart phone with her capacity and economic status and the phone is not appropriate currently unless she can gradually increase her capacity later. That’s why annexes of sustainable development are economic activities like tourism with sustainable culture.

KATHMANDU, Friday, 14 September, 2018 — Imagine what you want and find on your Pam. It seems a dream, but such dreams are transferring into reality. It is a new approach and an innovative idea that I and my team has tried to relate imagination into reality in UN digital library. Just think and speak what you want, UN digital library would prompt available materials in various formats – documents, photos and videos – of information. Concept of voice over search engine has been implemented into the digital library, especially for those people who are very special and differently able to perform any acts of their life. With essence of global agenda 2030 – sustainable development – we tried to accommodate all leaving no one behind. This is still not enough but might be the first kind in digital library in Nepal to try to reach more people through unique campaign of the UN’s knowledge management to preserve institutional memories.
KATHMANDU – Saturday late evening, 1st September 2018, was raining and cool breeze was touching my face, feeling my chest and hitting legs. I was in shorts returning home on bike. I was in speed since I didn’t want to get wet. Cough and cold already caught me last week. I reached home and “a drunk woman was lying on the road in our area and she was surrounded by a big crowd”, my wife and kids said while I was parking the bike. Such cases of drunken man or woman were not the case first time for me. I found a lot while roaming around Kathmandu and jogging around Pashupati area. I just went to observe.
With passion of reaching to end users, any transition of technological innovation has to overcome several issues, beyond the environment. While turning reference library to digital library in United Nations Information Centre (UNIC) in Nepal, mainly three components – content, budget and technology – were central to produce a visible result within 5 years timeframe. Authorization is major component every time to establish a legacy. This article is based on the author’s experiences of UN digital library (http://un.info.np) transition in UNIC Kathmandu.

After immediate of people moments and Nepal’s armed conflict in 2062 BS, Tarai was burning and internal displace persons made a reality of today’s Hetauda landscape and it’s shaping differently soon.
