What do you do if you have 10?… what? Confused? Counter questions put you into knowledge stage. Exactly, you are asking yourself what 10. Ten (10) can be either 10 books or 10 rupees or any letter or any image about event. Data are discrete about events including numbers, text or any image representing single reality without any context. Data always represented disconnected and distinct which are absolute single reality without any double meaning to anyone like “10” means not “11”. It is “10” in quantity anywhere and anytime (environment).
A time in a place constitute context or environment. The context always depends upon place where you stand and time when you are. It can’t be the same contact ever since it is always changing. A statement condensing data is an information which is categorized and contextualized like a statement – “10 books are on my table today.” The information always represents single reality categorically since it is contextualized in single context. It can be also calculated and provoked. That’s why there is always a dilemma or doubts in information. Hence, trust is an issue in information.
Trust and truth constitute knowledge in core composition. Unless trusting on anything else you cannot get any information about a thing or anyone else. The first thing is “trust” to earn on anything and truth constitutes knowledge. Since knowledge always depends on context. That’s why knowledge always represents multiple realities even in same time and same place. Let’s take an example here. A maid and a student were standing in my office cabin and I said,”10 books are on my table today. And please write your action to take separately.” The maid wrote, “I clean up books from desk as soon as possible.” And the student said, “I study those books.” Same context in same time generate different statement into their mind because they are from different contextual background. In a way, there are many elements which can mediate knowledge meaning process since knowledge is output of mental process of object within an environment.
Another example makes you clear on knowledge and how it creates multiple realities of same object within one context. A man, Ram, from Hindu religion and a man, John, are observing a cow. Ram calls a cow laxmi mata. John calls “cow” or “an animal”. The wonderful things are sense or image of cow constructed by both. Ram said, “Laxmi mata” since he is from Hindu religion and John said, “cow” since he is from another religion which does not make image of mata (mother). That’s why knowledge always relays on context or environment where you are.
This is not the end of acquiring knowledge but once you trust the knowledge and act, it turns into wisdom. On this issue, there are a lot of things to write and I will write soon on this issue. Travel of data to knowledge through information was always a piece of my presentation in knowledge sharing session. That’s why I wrote this article for you.
